In order to provide you the most appropriate advice, it is essential that our specialists are fully aware of your medical conditions.
For your appointments, please bring the following:
- Details of your medical history
- Your medications, or a list of your medications
- Results of any recent tests
- Any questions or concerns you may have
We strongly recommends you bring a close relative/friend. This helps provide extra information about your social history and everyday functioning. It is very important if you are being seen for your memory.
Payment in full is required on the day of appointment. EFTPOS (Credit/debit card) is preferred, although cash and cheque are also accepted. Fees depend on the complexity of each case and the time required for the consultation. An estimate of fees is available on booking.
GeriMedWA accepts most of the insurance providers. Please check with our friendly staff when booking the appointment.
Yes GeriMedWA accepts the DVA card holders.
Most of our appointments are eligible for a Medicare rebate. We can lodge the claim on your behalf, following payment of your account.
Yes. As with Medicare card holders, payment will be required in full on the day of the appointment.
The first appointment usually takes between 45 minutes to an hour. The follow up appointments are usually between 20-30 minutes.
Please allow additional time to account for delays, as our patients often present with complex medical issues which occasionally may take a little longer than expected. We would really appreciate your patience and understanding.
You will receive a SMS reminder / email 5 days prior to your appointment. You will need to reply so to confirm your attendance.

A geriatrician is a medical doctor that specialises in the care of older people. They have expertise in issues often seen with ageing such as falls, frailty, memory loss and polypharmacy (excessive medications).
Yes, our Geriatricians may visit nursing home to review your relative. Please note we need a GP referral for all new patients. GP will need to kindly send us a referral. You can please complete the referral form on our website to contact us.
Our home and nursing home visits, due to frailty, do not attract any additional payments.

Referrals from your GP is usually valid for one year. If further appointments are required beyond 12 months of initial consultation, a new referral would be required.
A new referral enables your GP to update us of any significant changes to your health or advice received from other specialists and care providers.
This enables our specialists to review your current medical condition and provide you with the most appropriate health advice.

Please consult with your GP for scripts for general medication. For specialised medication ordered by the Physician, we will be able to organise a script for you. A small fee may be required.
